Single GPU for Triple Monitor Gaming

I am looking for a new graphics card, as my 640 doesn't have the greatest performance.

I am looking for a card that will run one game accross 3 monitors in eyfinity or nvidia surround. my budget is $600.

I had previously gone after the EVGA 780 6gb, but have been told it will not run 3 monitors with decent fps.

so, what single card will drive 3 monitors for less than $600?

  1. Well I'd say this is the best one you can get for $600: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvr929xoc4gd
It won't run games like BF4 maxed out across 3 1080p monitors though, you'll need 2 cards for that.

Im just wondering, but if you look at GPUguru, the spects for the 780 seem to be much better. What makes the 290x better?
  3. Specs don't really mean anything when you compare AMD and Nvidia, unless you take in all of the factors. What makes the 290X the clear winner is the fact that multiple monitors need a lot of VRAM; It has 1GB more VRAM so it'll be better for a multi-monitor setup.

    Look at the 5760 x 1080 figures: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2013/11/05/amd-radeon-r9-290-review/3

If you look above you can see i would have gotten the evga 780 6gb, which has 2 more gigabytes than the 290x.
mistake, or am i missing something?

Ah sorry for the confusion, my mistake. Still, the R9 290X is stronger; It's somewhat on par with the GTX 780Ti.
