The Titan Z is better than the Titan Black, but if you really want to spend that much money on a video card, get the AMD R9 295X2. It performs about the same as the Titan Z and is half the price.

It would help to know what your display resolution is. The six GB of the Titan is only needed with triple displays or the 4K display. If you have a single monitor up to the 30 inch 2560X1600 than two 780's or even 780ti's would be plenty and save you a ton of money. You could even use the R9 290(X) to save more money.

To go with triple or quad SLI you would need a 2011 chip from Intel to make it useful for you need that much extra PCI-E bandwidth (40 channels vs the 16 channels of the 1050 package)

It depends much on the game's programming, but look for a triple SLI to go anywhere from a bit slower to maybe 20% faster, not a good value.

Quad SLI is even worse. Again it can actually runs slower to maybe 10 odd percent faster. About the only thing that makes sense for quad SLI is benchmarking with test software or actual rendering/professional use.

In short, for gaming, something like this:

I7-4790K
Asus Hero VII
two 780TI or two Titan blacks for very high resolution
top quality 1000W power supply

2-way Titan-Z is Quad SLI, the scaling is not good. The Titan-Z is dual Titan Blacks in the first place, just underpowered.

Saver the money and just get four R9 290X's, then you don't have underpowered cards and you save a heck of a lot, for similar performance.

For triple 4k screens if doing ultra gaming, then even 4 cards isn't going to cut it, wait for GTX 800 series maxwell for that, projected to handle 4k much better then current gen cards.

Fastest processor and best motherboard and cooler that fits

Low profile RAM to fit under the cooler 16GB is more than will ever be needed for gaming

Huge 1TB SSD to put all games and operating system etc on with plenty of room.

TITAN Black card is the fastest GPU out there and has 6GB VRAM

Biggest and best case and power supply

3 2560X1440 displays 27 inches each

Later you could move up to the Maxwell based Video cards from Nvidia

that's what he listed, yes.

If you plan to liquid cool, then get ones with good water blocks (like the one you listed), if not, then the stock cooled model.

one 4k monitor, 2 Titan Blacks would be best, with three, the scaling is not good.
