Hi guys,

As the title says recently my PC has started to beep at me for some reason. i built it myself about 4 months and everything still runs fine apart from it crashing in games from time to time (not sure if its related) and the beeping. it goes 1 short beep then stops for about 20 secs or so then 2 short beeps. it just keeps repeating and sometimes it won't beep at all which really confuses me. i looked online and it said it could be the ram needing to be re-seated which i tried but hasn't helped. Please help.System specs are:

If its beeping rather than POSTing it's because - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power-on_self-test. To interpret you need to knwo whether your motherboard has ami or ibm bios - check its specs.

it POSTs and runs normally and goes to the desktop but it just has a beep in the background. i'm starting to think i might have connected something wrong but then why would the beeping only just start now?

Open your case, run it and try to find where the beeping is coming from.

Opened my case and sounds like the beeping is coming from my fan controller which is a Bitfenix Recon. I googled issues people have had with it and looks like it could be a faulty fan controller causing the fans to stop and the beeping to start so i will have to watch the fans when the beeping starts again just to check.

I don't believe in them when you can use your uefi to do as good for nothing.

So turns out it was the fan controller not working properly. switched it to manual and no problems at all
