amd 265 gets better fps, 750 ti is more power efficient, i've found them for the same price, what other things should i consider? like for example, does one do a better job of remaining cool, or not burning up too much? should i look into api?

i've come across words like mantle and physx. I think it has to do with api, but what are those? and which is better?

If im not mistaken, 760 ti is directx12 while amd 265 is directx 11.2 so does this really a negative for amd or does this not really make a difference? again, im not too familiar with what this actually is.

so far im leaning towards amd 265, but i still am not sure.

Physx is a feature to provide realistic effects in the enviorment around you: Here is an example in borderlands 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9k1idbbr2pw

Mantle is an api. it will provide you with noticably better framerates in games that supports it, such as battlefield 4.

And yes an r7 265 is faster in most cases. For the same price it is a better purchase.

And regarding directx. The r7 265 supports directx 11.2 while the 760 supports 11.1. But this isn't really important right now.

under "key features" it said "Microsoft DirectX 12 API (feature level 11_0) Support"

Yeah, "feature level 11_0 support". You'll only be able to use direct 11 features. So it doesn't really support anything in directx 12.
