computer died and wont turn back on

a couple of days ago i was playing diablo 3 and my computer crashed and the screen displayed alot of diffrent colors then i tried to reset the computer and then it wouldnt boot back up then after that i tried to turn the computer fully off and tried to turn it back on but now it doesnt even turn on. it turns on for about 1 second then fails what would the problem?

The problem is that one or more components failed.

If you have a PSU tester, you can test if the PSU is still good.

Then remove all the components except the CPU (with it's heatsink) from the motherboard. Power the motherboard on and listen for beeps or if you have a newer motherboard with LED diagnostics, see if that says the CPU is up and it needs RAM.

Add one stick of RAM, repeat.

Add one more component, repeat, etc...
