I am looking to build a budget gaming desktop to be able to play some PC games. I already have a mouse, monitor, and keyboard. Any suggestions on types of parts would be awesome. I have built 2 computers before but that was many years ago and I am out of the loop of the current hardware. Thanks!

I'm assuming you have the OS. If not, you'll probably have to back off to an R7 250 or R7 250x to get closer to budget.

Thank you for your reply. I noticed on the motherboard there was not an hdmi port for video output. Is there a similarly priced motherboard that works with the rest of the parts that has an hdmi port?

The video card has the HDMI output.

Also, I would save up a little more money and buy the AMD FX-6300 for $110. It will be worth it in the long run.

Thanks for the suggestion. I probably don't need the optical drive so I could probably squeeze in that better cpu. I know I have heard a lot about how a ssd could help boost speeds of the computer. Would anyone recommend a low gb ssd for this computer? Just to maybe run the OS on and some minimal programs. Thanks!

SSDs are great, but it's problematic getting it into a $500 budget build - you're going to sacrifice serious gaming ability without increasing budget.

So I guess does anybody have a budget that would be a decent gaming computer? Not looking for anything amazing but how much more would I have to spend to get it to a decent gaming build? Thanks!

I think you would be quite pleased with this build here. It is an increase of only $130 and gets you quite a bit more performance.

Also, this build is without an operating system. So if you also need a new OS, tack on another $80.
