i have a tp-link router and i want to connect it to my WIMAX inorder to do port forwarding for some devices, how should i go ab

Solution
WiMax is almost dead wireless broadband system so you likely should start looking for other alternatives....ie LTE.

If you were to post the models of the equipment there might be a way to get a router to connect to a WiMax modem/router. Many of these are WiFi hotspots so the router would need to be able to receive the wan on wireless.

Lets just assume we can get the tp-link connected to your device that receives the WiMax signals.

The problem you have is most wireless broadband providers do not give you actual routable IP addresses. This means there is another router that the ISP controls that is doing the NAT from the real IP to the private ones they give to the end devices. The port forwarding must be done in the ISP router...

The only hope you have is if your ISP has a option to pay extra for a real IP or you are on some rare smaller ISP that uses real addresses. All the larger WiMax ISP I know of use private IP addresses if they are still even offering WiMax. The largest installed system in the world is sprint/clear and that is to be turned off in 2015.
