Have a WD 1200VE. I dropped it. ugh! Plug it in and now the computer doesn't recognize it. Plug i t in & light comes on & disk

Probably damaged something. I've dropped hard drives before and they are find and at times i've dropped hard drives and BAM click of death. Plug it in. See if you can hear it spin up. if it clicks its gone. If it spins up and thats it then something to the USB adapter might have busted and if the hard drive is good then you will be in luck. You can just get a new enclosure for it or RMA it.
