Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone could help me with a HDD issue I am having.
I'm a fairly confident computer user but this has me stumped and nothing I am trying seems to work.
I bought a brand new HDD as my other one died suddenly a few weeks ago. The HDD shows in my Computer Management. The problem seems to be that it wont format properly.
I have tried to format it via CM, via chkdsk and also via the seagate tools.
I left the Seagate tools running for over 24+ hours which i thought was a joke as my PC is fairly new with decent spec and only just over a year old.
I managed to format the disc and assign a drive letter. But then when I tried to install a program (steam) to that drive letter it wouldn't install fully. It only installed to around the 90% mark and then I killed the process after about 30 mins.
Not sure if the drive is just knackered or what?
Any tips / help would be very much appreciated as I'm close to throwing it out of the window.
Cheers
Dom
PS Using Windows 7 Ultimate, anything further you need to know then just ask (in work atm so havent got all specs in front of me)
