Hi everybody, I have a MSI G41M-P33 COMBO motherboard and Pentium D820 CPU. I bought a 2GB/DDR3/1333MHz RAM because it was cheaper than the others :) But my motherboard support 1333MHz RAM only for overclocling. Is it logical to overclock my CPU in order to use the current RAM? If yes, how can I change the settings from the bios menu? Thanks.

Solution
In the bios menu, the default values are as following... Current CPU freq: 2.80 GHz, current DRAM freq: 800 MHz, CPU base freq: 200 MHz, FSB/DRAM ratio: auto. I can adjust the CPU base freq up to 700 MHz and the FSB/RAM ratio to 1:1.50, 1:1.20, etc. I do not want to change the CPU base freq because it increases the current CPU freq very high and I am not sure my CPU can handle it. Do anybody know what causes if I change the FSB/RAM ratio?

What?

You need overclock the RAM, not the CPU. You should be able to clock up the RAM in BIOS fairly easily. Just set it to 1333 mHz, it probably is running at 800 mHz right now.
