TL;DR - Card is recognized as VGA Standard Graphics Adapter. Yes it's real (Pics down below!). I suspect it's the motherboard's issue. Mobo - MSI Z87 - G41 Graphics Card - R9 270 Confirmation it is motherboard's issue? I am also using a DVI Cable and DVI Port so I don't know why it says "VGA"

So I built my first build last week and I finally get it all together and boom; the graphics card isn't compatible with all my games. The games reject the graphics card. So I check to see if my card is a fake and I open up GPU-Z. All specs match but the graphics card name is VGA Standard Graphics Adapter. I am also using a DVI Cable and DVI Port so I don't know why it says "VGA". So for a while I thought the card was defective until I had a person look at it and put another graphics card in and it still read "VGA Standard Graphics Adapter". Mobo - MSI Z87 - G41 Graphics Card - R9 270. Pictures of mobo and gpu are here. I just need to know if it's truly the motherboard's problem and not me neglecting to do something. Thanks for any suggestions and answers.

Have you installed the latest GPU drivers from AMD, i had the same problem and it turned out that i didn't, after that i installed them and everything worked. (Dont forget to install integrated graphic card drivers if you have that kind of CPU :)

VGA standard graphics is the generic driver loaded when proper drivers cannot be found. Go to www.amd.com, select Drivers and R9 series. download the newest NON-BETA catalyst drivers and should work after drivers are loaded
