They should be fine, but you will be limited on what settings that you want to play at. It will depend on the games you want to play and what your Monitor's resolution is at. Your CPU and GPU combo will depict your game settings along with the Monitor resolution. The better the GPU (in general) the better the gaming experience will be at a given resolution.

For example a system with an i7 4770k and a GTX 750 won't game as well as a system with an i3 and a GTX 780 Ti. Your system is a lower-end CPU with a mid range GPU, which should work pretty well together as far as gaming is concerned.

Personally I would favor the Intel option, because you can use cheaper Mobo's to get the job done. I just don't like recommending FX 6300 with cheap Mobo's, because they are just a bit power hungry compared to other options and with cheap AM3+ Mobo's your upgrade path is limited (not that your probably going to upgrade to an FX 8350 soon, but....).

I'm also interested to see the new unlocked Pentium CPU that should be out soon (not sure when it releases). That could be the next "Budget" gaming CPU :)
