This was the first time I built a computer. I had everything correctly in place, all the wires in their correct slots. I have to say that I'm a noobie in hardware. Every time when I played a game, I would have around 20 FPS when playing on medium-ish settings. A year later, I noticed that my PCI-E cable was not plugged in. In the past months, I've been using is the HD graphics from my intel processor (i3). When i plug in my PCI-E cable into my graphics card and then turn on my computer, all I would have is a black screen. Without the PCI-E plugged in, the computer would just function normally. Just like I said, I'm a noobie and this was my first build. How can I solve this problem?

dude i just want to make things clear first. when the gtx 650 ti is inserted in the pci-e slot. is your vga/hdmi or dvi cable connected at the motherboard? because if you insert a graphics card you should you should also switch the monitor cable to the card that youre using let me kn ow whatll happen

Yes, the vga cable is connected to the motherboard. Even if I use the adapter to plug the vga cable to the graphics card, it would work but shows in a crappy resolution that i can't change. If I play a game, it would freeze.

dude if your using a graphics card you only need to use the cable that comes from the monitor down to the gtx 650. do not use the built in graphics card at the back of the motherboard. give it another try give me an update
