I purchased the h100i and I have the corsair carbide spec 03 case. I was wondering how I should set this up. I have 2 front intake fans and one exhaust fan in the back.

More about : h100i intake exhaust push pull

Exhaust in push & pull if possible. If not, just do pull.

Ideally it should be a push/pull setup on an intake so it is unheated air. But that doesn't help you cool the case. It would be like taking heat out of the case and then putting it right back in. I would set it up as an exhaust.

What? If the H100i is set up as INTAKE, that would be counter-productive. It's not like a self-kit radiator where you can mount it anywhere and it doesn't have to be directly tied to the CPU. So if it's in intake configuration, it would be fighting mother nature. Hot air naturally rises, so by intake, you are pushing it back down. Not only that, it would push the hot air from the radiator back down into the case. That does not work well at all so I don't find it anywhere near "ideal".

Read the last sentence.

Are you just trying to be contradictory? Why say that as a small footnote as a last sentence when you said it would be ideal to set it up as intake as an opening sentence?

You don't seem to read very well. The previous sentence stated the same thing. And a radiator is more effective with cool air.

Maybe it's just me. I'll leave OP to ask questions if OP doesn't understand your post. I'm sure I can't be the only one confused by it or misread it.

At the moment im only using the fans that came with it. And the answer was a little confusing btw. So I should do pull as exhaust?

Yes as an exhaust.Just try things out regarding the to push or pull,it probably doesn't make such a big difference.I think i would start with push.

Ok so it doesnt really matter? I heard exhaust with pull config for better dust clening on radiator

Yes; pull is better because it's much easier to clean dust on top of the radiator than below it. Also when you run in push configuration, there's no guarantee that the air will be pushed completely through the radiator at all.

If you are using just one fan on it, I vote for a Push configuration in an Exhaust fan orientation.

The H100i at STOCK configuration will work fine without intervention. By default, it has two fans on push configuration that functions as top exhaust. So unless you modify the H100i, you will only be able to install it in push configuration.

My radiator cam with the 2 fans for the top of the case. So I should do pull config in exhaust??? Thatmeans the fans above the radiator

Correct.

Ok. And what was the benefit of doing it that way?

I already answered that question.
