HELP NEEDED PLZ...visible difference between 1080p vs 1200p vs 1440p

right so hi everyone, as the title says i'm trying to expand my pc build budget to force in a 1200p or a 1440p display...a 1080p was my initial choice though..these are my choices
Asus VE247h for 1080p http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-monitor-ve247h

i'm aware of all the specs on paper, response time contrast etc...all i wanna know is there any real visible difference, how much of it?....keeping in mind that if i do go for a 1200p i might have to downgrade to a gtx 770 from a gtx 780, and if i go for 1440p i will definately need to downgrade to a gtx 770, ....will the higher resolution compensate the loss of 10-15 fps?
this is for gaming purposes btw, any help from someone with personal experience with these resolutions is especially welcome

...so what should i do?

I had similar queries about the "real" difference between the resolutions, So as the usual me I have bought and used 1080p screens, 1440p, sold that and now a 4k screen and 1080p screen.

Conclusion; 1440p IS noticeably different from 1080, especially when games don;t scale the resolution, modern games will take full advantage of this resolution and greater. From This I decided to go 2160p and the difference was not surprisingly more noticeable but the games which took advantage of this also declined.

Your graphics card will suffer, going from 1080p to 1440p is getting close to double the pixels, so your card will struggle. The amount of FPS will vary and is hard to predict.

I am using an R9 290X 4GB, For reference.

The GTX 770 will struggle, but upgrade to the Maxwell GTX 800 cards, they will suffice these resolutions far better then any current day card.

wait but the 800 series cards arent out yet are they?....also thnx for your help!....getting a 1440p monitor would really stretch my budget to the tipping point so the 1200p is a more viable choice....so the difference between 1080 and 1200?...is it worth it?and also yea, the higher resolution will require more vram so i guess the 3gb 770/ 780 would struggle in that manner as well right?

no, I mean wait for it.

I forgot to say, I had the Asus PB278Q, 1440p, 27" PLS panel, includes all cables you'll need, not just the terrible (1) VGA cable you might get!

All cards do struggle at even 1440p, single GPU'd cards that is.

1200p is good, though I wouldn't really call it a huge jump. That said I haven't used 1200p monitors before. I only like to provide feedback for the products i have used.

For 1440p you don't want anything lower than a 780. I have a 1440p monitor and a 780 Ti and it works great but I fear that anything lower than a 780 would struggle as I still can't max out Crysis 3 and AC:BF w/PhysX (I'm talking completely max) with a 780 Ti. 1440p really does look amazing compared to 1080p so going 1440p is well worth it but as I said, don't go any lower than a 780.

770 would probably be fine with 1200p.

No, I'd highly recommend waiting 'til you can afford a 1440p monitor and keep your 780.
