Save money or go for broke?

Hi I'm currently looking at building a pc that will mainly be used for gaming (I'm investing in this instead of a next-gen console) and a teeny tiny bit of light programming work. The budget is under £900 (I live in the UK) but I'd like to save as much as I can if possible! I'd love to have it built within a week but I don't mind waiting for a little longer for certain parts.
I've already produced a rough guide on pcpartpicker: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/sephiroth0011/saved/9tYLrH

Some important notes:

  • I'm never going to overclock so I'm wondering whether I need to bother with a k processor or not? And I don't really need an amazing motherboard for the same reason or an aftermarket cooler

I'm not going to be gaming at a higher resolution than 1080p for at least a few years either so is it even worth picking up an r9 290?

I would kinda prefer a quiter computer so any advice to help with that?

I'm also completely open to case recommendations because I honestly cannot decide!

For the case, they are mostly personal preference. Good brands to look at for cases would be Corsair and CoolerMaster.

Not going to overclock? - Dont get a K processor.

For the graphics card, I would get that anyway, but you don't really need it.
instead of going broke, i would just go for well-rounded balanced build

Get the parts you want but get an after-market cooler if you want quieter results. About the case.. i dont know.. check if the motherboard/psu/GPU fits in it and if you like the style too take it!
