TV's that say they are 120hz, are not 120hz. At least, they do not accept 120hz worth of information. They only taken in 60hz of info, and do some post processing to generate the extra frames. 3D Vision will not work with that.

For a 3DTV, it is often possible to use Nvidia 3DTV play, from what I hear. I believe the side by side format works best, as it will allow for 60hz gaming at their native resolution, but the image is still an upscaled image. Ultimately monitors are better for this, unless size is key for you.

Yes but from what i understand is the visio is 120 hz 1080p so it would be just like an 42" monitor with tv capabilities from what i understand i know what your syaing that some say and are not but i'm sure there are some REAL 120hz because you need 60hz per eye tv's it's just where

3D TV's operate at 24hz in 3D. They use HDMI connections. Generally HDMI 1.4a or older. Even if the supported HDMI 2.0, which is brand new and the only HDMI connection capable of supporting 120hz, GPU's don't support HDMI 2.0 yet, which would mean finding a DP to HDMI 2.0 converter. Those don't exist either.

The only way to get 60hz 3D gaming from a TV is if frame packing is used, or a passive 3D system. That means it still will not support 120hz in 2D. However, this is what Nvidia 3DTV Play is designed for. It takes 3D TV's and allows them to work with Nvidia's software. When looking for a TV with frame packing, you'll likely want one that uses the Side by side format, otherwise you'll be limited to 720p.
