I recently bought this:

It has not delivered yet, but my big concern, did I waste my money? Can it run most today games at medium/high with 60fps?

Also, I've heard AMD cards are bad at modeling and gfx programs. Is it true or a myth?

You get fair value at any price point.
If the card is a significant upgrade, you will be pleased.

AMD and Nvidia are both good; I suspect some FUD.

I used to own a gtx 460 SE 1GB, but it died, and I didn't have money, so I had to buy this. Do you think it is even equal to my old card?

The R7 260X is better than the GTX 460 SE.

AMD video cards are actually really good for most things, just as good as Nvidia. They tend to have better OpenCL support for modeling and such, which does offset the loss of CUDA.

It's AMD CPUs that are weaker than the competition. Their video cards are fine.

I have an i5 processer, don't remember exact model.

Thanks for your reply, made my day! :)

AMD video cards are fantastic for accelerating modeling/graphics programs... if they support OpenCL. NVidia cards use CUDA which is similar but proprietary. If you use CUDA programs the R7 260X will be slower. If the programs you use support OpenCL, the R7 260X will be faster.

In games, the R7 260X is faster than the 460 SE. It's comparable to a GTX 560, which is what I have. The performance varies on a per-game basis, but it'll suffice for awhile for 1080P 60 fps gaming.

Just for reference, it can play Battlefield 4 at a mix of medium & high settings at 1080P, 60 fps.
