Hi all, I recently started to notice huge fps spikes in all my games. Everything runs smoothly and then suddenly the fps drop and then back to normal.it doesnt stay low and it happens anytime. Its not fps drop because of high graphical scenery, its just quick spikes all the time. I have a MSI Twin frozer GTX 760 2gb OC.I have the card for 3 months now and all my games run perfectly on it for 3 months but now suddenly all time fps spikes in all my games. I have the newest drivers installed

My specs:
Asus ROG maximus iv gene3 mobo
i5 2500 3.3GHz
8gb corsair vengeance gaming RAM
MSI Twin frozer GTX 760 2gb OC
Coolermaster extreme2 625W
2Tb WD Green
64Gb OCZ agility3 ssd

Can someone please tell me what is wrong and how do I fix it cause doesnt have money to buy another gpu so soon.

The problem could be just about anything - but my guess would be some bit of software that is causing a spike in CPU use and/or network traffic and you are seeing this contention as a drop in FPS.

What you need to do is try to simplify, monitor and analyze your system on a fairly ongoing basis until you can find the issue. Remove unimportant plugins and processes. This can include automated updates for a time. It can also include removing unneeded hardware if you can. I.E. unplug USB devices that you don't need; remove external disk arrays if applicable - ect.

Take this step by step and see if you can issolate the problem. If you turn off a program or remove a bit of hardware and the problem goes away - you found it. If it persists - keep trying.

Good luck.

Very hard to give a solution.
First: what changed in the last three months? yes, Summer came, everything got very hot :)  so, first, try to eliminate throttles caused by heat either on the CPU (witch i susspect, since i guess you have the stock intel cooler) or GPU.
If everything looks fine in the temperature area, then, i suggest a full reinstall of Windows / Drivers. Yes, could take some time, but that usually fixes alot of issues.
So, clean your PC, verify if your CPU has normal temps (hardware monitor).
Also, spikes can be caused by HDDs aswell... but take it step by step.

Yes! A full reinstall of Windows with the same drivers version (that you have when everything were good) should fix everything...if not there's a hardware prob. ... for sure!

Take care, if you've got a virus and you also have more than one partitions on your hard disk...formatting only the Windows partition doesn't means that you've got rid of it...
