Okay, let's get the hardware and software out of the way.

Motherboard:
ASUSTeK Computer INC. P6X58D-E
Intel i7 960 3.2 GHz Quad core
GPU:
Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 OC with Boost 3GB DDR5 11197-03-40G
RAM:
24 GB of RAM in six 4 GB sticks.
Corsair XMS3 4 GB 1333 MHz PC3-10666 240-Pin DDR3
OS:
Windows 7 Enterprise

I have checked and believe Windows 7 Enterprise should be able to support 24 GB of RAM, as should my motherboard, but only 16 GB are being recognized by Windows. I have attempted to reseat the RAM in different slots to no avail. BIOS does seem to recognize that there are 6 sticks in the 6 slots, and can even tell me the information about each stick, but will only recognize 16 of the 24.

I wonder if this is tied to my BIOS version? It's old, but have never been able to figure out how to update it. Currently installed BIOS version is American Megatrends V8.14 from 11/2/2010. I have never been able to find more modern versions of American Megatrends BIOS for my motherboard that haven't led me to 'BIOS update software' that I would have to pay extra for. Is there a reliable site I can go to that will have updated versions for my motherboard?

If I have left out any information, please let me know so I can better fill you in.

Thanks in advance!
- Mike

Do you know the model number? If so go here to check for a BIOS update:

ASUS MB Search

Type in the model name/number of your board and search for a BIOS update.
