HDMI connection not detected on Dell E2014t

I got a brand new monitor Dell E2014T if I connected with VGA works fine, but if I try to use HDMI it shows a black screen with a message "No VGA..." but the interesting thing is that the touch screen work, like if I touch the screen my laptop (which is connected to the monitor) responds.
Strange right?

Sounds daft but some monitors have an Input button and require you to manually change which input is being used VGA, HDMI, DVI ect. Not sure if thats the case here though.

Hi,
As Zink1701 suggested, you have to change the input mode. http://bit.ly/1lKyLR7 will help you with the manual for your monitor. Please refer Input selection under OSD Menu settings. You should be able to change it to HDMI. I am sure that should help.
