which PC is the better deal?
Both with 8GB RAM, a GTX 780 Ti and a 1TB HDD for £980
Option 1: i7 4770 with Gigabyte H81M-H motherboard
Option 2: i5 4670K with Asus Z87-K motherboard

Which option should I go for since I am looking for longevity and I am doing intense programming and fairly heavy multitasking and gaming? which is the better option?

Solution
You could get something like this for about the same price and is better than either of those builds if you build yourself:

There are positives and negatives to each combo:
i7 4770 has hyperthreading and will help with rendering or tasks that utilize more than 4 cores but is a locked CPU so it cannot be overclocked (OC)
The Gigabyte H81m is a micro atx motherboard and fairly low end with few upgrade options

The i5 4670k doesn't have hyperthreading but is unlocked so it can be overclocked.
THe Asus Z87-K mobo is ok but is not the best for overclocking (4 power phase design rather than 8 phase design which is better for overclocking)

Basically if you don't plan on overclocking or have programs that utilize the i7's hyperthreading then get the i7 build. If you want to overclock your CPU then grab the i5 4670k

Also, you should consider building a PC yourself, you can customize it quite a bit more to suit your needs.
