No matter what i try, i always get a system error, and a shutdown. What could it be?

Okay, so i'm really new to overclocking. I've watched a video from "linus tech tips" on how to overclock, using my exact CPU (i7 4770K).

His settings are as follows: 4.6GHz at 1.2V with 1600MHz RAM speed. I used the same, but system crash was a result after 9 minutes of testing with AIDA64 Extreme.

I have tried to turn down the multiplier to 4.2, and 4.4GHz but with no results. I have also tried to reduce voltage on each setting and fiddle with the cache multiplier to match the core multiplier or go slightly below it.

I doubt this is from heat problem. Never even got 60C before it shut down. PSU is a 750W silver.

What settings and such would you recommend trying? Exact values and tips would be lovely! And what could possibly cause the errors and shutdowns?

Thank you very much in advance!

4.6 on 1.2v is near impossible unless its a very very good sample. your looking at around 1.3-1.35v to get that kind of speed and be stable on 4770k even then it may not work as 4.6 is good sample timings. 4.5 is a typical maximum for most.

also check your event logs and see if theres any errors showing up there. error 41 and 124 refer to pc lost power unexpectedly. anything else is likely software related.

Okay, so without making a whole lot of fuzz about this, what can you recommend in voltage if i'm to use 4.2GHz? Also, should cache ratio multiplier be 1-1 with the multiplier for core GHz?

Update: Tried some more, just left settings at auto this time, while i turned up GHz to 4.2. Things went smooth, but when i stopped the test i got a BSOD. Error code said: Page fault in a non-page area. Looked it up and it seems to have something to do with RAM
