Since i built my computer in Nov of 2012, i had played around with some settings in AS suite to overclock my 3570k. And while that worked, it always reset back to stock settings every time i would shutdown or stand-by. So i got annoyed today and manually overclocked it.

You can see my build in my signature.

I got it clocked to 4.3 and 1.255v (which is what it was running in ASsuite.)

I have a hyper 212evo cooler and while just goofing around on the web and listening to some music etc.. my temps are in the high 30s (36-41ish)

What kind of temperatures should i be looking for? I haven't had a chance to really experiment with this chip since i build the computer.

Sorry for the newbie question :p any help is appreciated.

That temperature is fine but could do with some improvement. I've run my 2500k at 4.4Ghz and 1.25V, so you should be looking around the 1.21V mark. That should bring the idle temperature down to the low 30s.

Obviously, overclocking is never an exact science, but you should certainly be able to achieve a lower voltage.
