I'm on a budget and looking to buy a graphics card for under $120. I've narrowed my results down to the Radeon R7 260x Sapphire OC Edition card, and the Radeon HD 7850 XFX Core Edition, both of which I have found, brand new, for $109.99. I've done research online to try and decide which one is better. If the Radeon HD 7850 wasn't the XFX Core Edition, which hosts 1GB VRAM vs. 2GB, it would be a clear better choice. But I am stumped, and want to know what anyone else thinks. I'm leaning towards the R7 260x, I'm just not sure, it's a close call. Help anyone?

Even if it is the 1GB version, the HD 7850 will have more performance due to higher memory bandwidth (256 bit vs 128 bit) and more graphics core next processors.

For Graphics cards VRAM, FAST is better than MORE.

HD 7850s are also overclocking beasts, typically reaching 1200MHz on the core.

My son has a 7850 on his(my old) machine. It's really a great card, and still plays everything he wants at pretty respectable settings.

Thanks for the input! On another note, how do you think the HD 7850 would perform with most modern games at 1080p settings?

I get 60FPS with all Ultra settings at 1080p while playing Battlefield 3 and Skyrim with my HD 7850 at 1200/1500.

The only thing is BF3 I turn down the anti-aliasing so that the FPS doesn't dip down at all.
