Hello, I have a hard drive enclosure with the HDD from my PS3 game system. The enclosure is plugged into my laptop through the enclosure, and the light on the enclosure is on with the disc also spinning (pretty much everything seems functional). Problem is, I don't see it under "My Computer" I have also checked disc Management and still nothing. The BIOS is reading it. The computer also says it installed the driver software, but still no where to be found on the OS. I just need to reformat it, and install something on it to get my PS3 back and working (trying to save $300!) Thanks for the help in advance.

unfortunately ps3 drives cant be read by pc's natively. First browse Disk Management again looking for a drive that is foreign or unallocated. Disk Man should show the drive attached but not be able to use it (without wanting to reformat it first - dont format it!) once you can see the drive is attached then you will need the software to be able to read it. Be warned that some software cannot write to ps3 drives, only read.

Sorry for the long wait, but I did not install any software. Should I? I didn't think I would need it, since it is like any other ordinary hard drive.
