Hello everyone, I have been building a PC for 3 months without success. I have narrowed the problem down to the RAM (after returning the PSU, Mobo and CPU). I am sure the RAM is the issue, as I looked at my mobo manual and it does not list the exact model number as being compatible. I have ordered new compatible RAM and have no idea what to do with my previous RAM. It is in excellent condition, in box and technically never ran, but still works (not issue w/memory, just compatibility). Where/what/how should I do with it? It can't be returned, so should I sell it? What places would be a good place to post an ad? Thanks!

Solution
Make sure you have the latest BIOS,,, and try with 1 stick in slot 1 closest to the CPU...if no joy, try the other stick, if either will boot to BIOS go in and change DRAM voltage to 1.55 then try the second stick...if no joy then prob do have at least 1 bad stick - contact GSkill, their sticks have a lifetime guarantee http://www.gskill.com/rma.php

I'm using (or was, different memory now):
Motherboard Asus Z87-A ATX LGA1150
CPU Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core
RAM G.SKILL 16GB 2.8 F3-1600C9D-16GXM (not listed as compatible, there is some that comes close in the manual but is not listed exactly (one character off)).

I've returned three of the four main components, leaving only the memory. Also been talking to Asus and had a person help me with the build when I couldn't figure it out and everyone says it's the RAM too- so we'll see.

Thanks again guys!

Yep I have tried every single RAM setup with the 2 sticks I have (1 in, different slots, etc.) and nothing works. BIOS is up-to date, so I'm going to try the new memory. Thanks everyone!
