I've installed windows 7 64 bit on my PC which has 4 gig ram 1.8 GHz dual core processor, i've downloaded pretty much everything i know to get back to gaming but when i try go on minecraft it says i can only allocate 768 mb of ram when it says on my boot menu that i have 4 gig, i also went on my system properties it says i only have 1 gig on there, i've allocated around 2 gig-3.5 gig of memory to ram, through my computer properties, on advanced settings, my entire computer seems to be running a lot slower and freezes more often than my old one which only had something like 2.8 GHz processor/ 1 gig ram and only 32 bit, i'm absolutely clueless as to what i should do

The issue is the minecraft launcher. Check the following link to allow for ram to be used. Be sure to read the tips at the bottom of the page on how to change the values.
