i know this sounds silly but I'm building a high end rig for gaming mostly minecraft, with a few games like crysis 3, gta 4, mass effect 2, assassins creed(s), garrys mod, bio-shocks, ect ect.

the rig will be:
i7 4770k
750w psu 80+ gold
gtx 780ti

soo i wanted to know if the AOC Q2963PM is good for games like minecraft. i also play bio-shock quite abit more then the other games

More about : aoc q2963pm minecraft

I'm not sure I can recommend AOC anymore. I have a 27" from them and am starting to have doubts with it. Other than that, be sure to have a desk that can house a monitor that size, these things are huge.

If you're just playing games and not doing anything highly colour sensitive, I would recommend picking up one of the 2560x1440 Korean monitors such as http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4JH...

You get much more screen estate being 1440 pixels in height over 1080. 1440p is also still a 16:9 aspect ratio, over the 21:9 meaning less scaling problems for some media. (Scaling not really an issue overall)

I myself am actually using this QNIX monitor, but with a 750Ti. I have the monitor running at 2560x1440 @ 120Hz without any issues at all, There is only the option to change the brightness, and On/Off however, no OSD for colour changes.

These Korean monitors are simply just a Samsung PLS panel, slapped together into a Monitor frame with a 'bypass board' to skip expensive circuitry.

going with an expensive 1440p 27inch. LOL hopefully my 780ti can handle maxing out mass effect on it
