Slow internet speed on one device only in the house

i am getting currently 10% of my speed i should be getting. The speed i should be getting is, 5.5mbps but im getting at tops 0.5mbps. I have a desktop PC and its connected wirelessly via a adapter, the adapter i bought today because i had the issue this morning so i thought it was my adapter being faulty, however i took all of the other devices in my house up to the spot my desktop is in and they all connect fine and all get 5.5mbps. So i have tried quite a few things but still no fix, maybe i wait it out and it will go back to normal. Please let me know if there are any fixes

I just solved a problem with my internet speed on one computer. The problem was an AMD software called AMD Quick Stream, which was installed when I updated my AMD drivers.

You fellas may want to keep an eye out for an ASUS program called AI Suite II. Buried in their console is a program called Network iControl, make sure it is OFF. It caused me no end of headaches and 3 provider tech visits plus a new NIC. Network iControl was throttling me from 50/5 to around 4/1.5. Thankfully i was only out $12 for a NIC at the end of the day. Good luck!
