I have an Acer laptop currently running Windows 7 and I would like to install a new 128GB SSD. Instead of cloning my HDD, I would like to install a vanilla version of Windows 7. I prefer this because I don't have a lot of programs or info on my drive and I would like to start fresh. So my questions are where can I find a bloatware free version of Windows 7 (where I can use my existing license) and what should I do to prepare for the SSD installation, aside from backing up a few files to upload later?

Most of the information I found is only helpful if I was cloning my drive, which I'm not.

You should be able to use the activation code on your laptop with win7 on a new ssd. Do you have a win7 disk that came with the laptop? If not you can download a free free win7 ISO file, put it on a disk and load windows that way.

The license key should be printed on the laptop. On the bottom, or somtimes inside the battery space.

You can download the official Windows 7 ISO here:

Install and activate with your key.
