Hello, I've been trying to come up with a list of parts of a computer I'm building. When I came across the graphics card, I got confused. So many of them to choose from. I'm not sure whether or not which one can run the game, Minecraft, with the shaders modification. I'm looking for a GPU that can run shaders on a clear 60 FPS on 1080p or 720p (Either Or, Im used to playing on a crappy laptop screen resolution :)  ). My budget (For the GPU) is about 190-300 USD. Like I said before, I'm trying to run Minecraft with shaders and a smooth 60 or more. Thanks ~

The R9 270X would be a good choice. Should handle that easily. Minecraft is mostly CPU limited, so make sure you have a strong-ish Intel CPU, or your video card won't matter. Minecraft requires a relatively weak GPU and a strong CPU.

That information is wrong, the GPU matters more than the CPU. I know this from experience. And I can run shaders with a 128x128 texture pack in 1600x900 resolution with 70 FPS in a GTX 750 Ti and it's only $150.

Actually, he is correct. Minecraft is more CPU intensive, this is mainly due to it being written in Java. While a good GPU is also important, in the case of Minecraft you want a solid CPU for better performance.

Contemplating Whether I should go with the 270x or 280 or the 760 or 770, any thoughts?

The most powerful is the GTX 770 so if you can afford it, go for that one. Otherwise in descending order of performance:
R9 280
R9 270x
GTX 660

Sorry you are correct. I was acting with impulse and didn't research my answer. CPU and Java go together moreso. I have a AMD FX 8350 so that must be the main reason for me.
