I use programs like Sony Vegas/Adobe Photoshop/Adobe Premier Main use is for creating YouTube videos. Not a PC gamer so no need to go overboard with graphics. Never built a PC before should be fun, but I need some help!

Solution
use an i7 for that not an i5. Use a top of the line closed loop liquid cooler, as those programs benifit heavil from hyper threading, your gonna want a noce fast ssd. If you want a serious workstation computer for 1500, get this

i7-4790k
kraken x60 liwuid cooler
G-55 z97 mother board from MSI
revodrive 350 series 480gb
1 TB wd Blue
16 GB of whatever ramm you can find. Get like 1600mhz or something, intel ships benifit from timings
and any good power supply that can hit like 500 watts. seasonic recommended
after that just find what ever other parts to put in it a nice cheap graphics card for multi displays and such. maybe a cheap workstation graphics card is what you want.

REasoning: Graphics cards wont help you edit. Its gonna be all...

I added a CPU Cooler in the build too. And since you said not to go overboard on the graphics card, you had enough money to go dual way SLI. But it's fine though :)

REasoning: Graphics cards wont help you edit. Its gonna be all about the processor, when loading effects and moving clips around from one folder to the next, that revo drive can move a massive amount of information extremely fast. once you've made your videod and rendered it move it to the 1tb drive and delete the data from the workstaion drive. This keeps your workstation drive empty, but makes for an extremely fast working copy of data while its in the drive. u will need alot of ramm cause you will probabyl have multiple editing programs open at once as you combine clips and such.

anything else you need? Blue ray drive, multi screen recommnedations, single screen recommendations?

this is an edit, that drive pushes you over budget, you could go with thhe 240gb version and save like 300, and you should be in range of your budget. remember though, i have built you the perfect video editing pc for your budget, however, if your not gonna use its full potential, maybe lower ur budget and go with a like 700 dollar build. a 1k-1.5k workstation computer is gonna be near proffesional levels of preformance
