I am looking to buy a desktop. My current laptop is rather old and worn. It ran minecraft at approx. 20 fps, and I ran out of space, as it only had 2 gigs of memory, not upgradeable, and with a new desktop I'm sure (and praying) that I'll never run into either of those problems again. The only things I ever do will be minecraft, surf the internet, and use microsoft programs (paint and word)

Approximate Purchase Date: Within a week, if possible
Budget Range: $700
System Usage from Most to Least Important: minecraft is the most important thing. I also need plenty of memory
Are you buying a monitor: I am, but it will not come out of the $700 budget (if anyone has any relatively cheap monitors they know of I'm all for it. $150 is my max for the monitor)
Parts to Upgrade:n/a
Do you need to buy OS: I do not
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: pcpartpicker would be nice, but I am not too picky. As long as there is a link to a website or store
Location: USA, relatively close to a microcenter
Parts Preferences: none
Overclocking: No
SLI or Crossfire: No

You're better off to go a bit cheaper if all you're going to do is just play minecraft. Try out some new games on the PC dude! You won't regret it!

With the computer that i recently built I'm able to play minecraft upwards of 150 frames with optifine and extreme render distance. I can also run pretty much any game fairly decent. Here's my specs.

CPU: Amd fx6300 black edition
Motherboard: Gigabyte 970a-ud3p atx am3+
Ram: g.skill ripjaw 2x4gb
Hard drive: Western digital 1tb 7200rpm
Video card: MSI r9 270
Power supply: cx500

You could really use any case, and with the recent price drops the 270x is probably the better way to go. If you're planning on building a $700 computer just for minecraft you will be able to play other games, and with the r9 200 series you can get up to 3(4?) free games so it's a really nice deal.
