Ok so i finally rebuilt my system after a few years here.. I was AMD since i started building in 1998, and finally converted to intel last week! I pretty much game so, i had a few people tell me how much better intel was, so i made the plunge(money wise), and couldnt be more excited... got the 4770k chip, same core count and speed as my prior amd phenom.. I have double my frames in every game ive thrown at it!

Now my question... im running 2 sticks of Corsair XMS3 1600 standard ram (8gigs total, 4 a piece).... Only piece of hardware i didnt upgrade in this system now. If i go and invest in the 1866 or 2133 speeds, will i see any improvment in gaming????

I run this 4770k chip(3.5ghz) at 4.2ghz on air cooling. temps are solid with the max at 51C full load. clearly just upping my multiplier...

does oc'ing/ or even owing the 1866 or 2133 speed ram have any impact on performance at all anymore?

Solution
In gaming you might see a few extra FPS, but DRAM doesn't have a lot of affect on gaming (as far as freq), faster sticks will improve multi tasking, video, imaging, that type of thing

haha.. ok.. from that video... i wanted to oc my ram and up it from 8 to 16 gigs.. just for gaming performance upgrade.. clearly i should stick with what i have and realize, from a gaming stand point.. not worth the cost to gain an extra 2-3 fps! hahaha
