Hey guys.
I recently upgraded my rig and i would like your help in overclocking my specs are as follows

I5 4670k
Asus gryphon z87
8 gig ram 1600 crosair
850w crosair power supply
Zalman lq 310 liquid cooler
Asus r9 290 reference cooler

Honestly i am new to overclocking i did try to overclock to 4.2 ghz it is stable tried running the stress test with intel extreme utility software the max temp reached under full load was 55c i did not play with the voltage yet i tried to push it to 4.3 ghz under the stress test it failed over heat and 4.4 ghz system just restarts. Should i just keep it on 4.2 or is there anything else i can do. Your help is highly appreciated.

Solution
up the voltage to 1.22V on Vcore, then if still unstable or not successful then up voltage by +[0.01V] until stable. No need to go above 1.300V.

This is the reason you experienced the restarting/failure. No damage was done, just restarted and all before anything could have happened to cause damage.

Thanks alot for your help. I noticed that on 4.6 on windows its stable but when i played crysis 3 it crashed and restarted so am guessing it needs more voltage so i should increase to 1.23v right? Once again thanks alot for your help
