Hello i hope i dont have a major problem but i took out my cpu to exchange it and saw that there was thermal paste on the retention plate so i used a cotton ball to wipe it but i saw little things of cotton in the cpu socket. Now im hoping that i can used compressed air or something to blow it out. Is that possible? I dont have a warranty or anything. Does anyone know if microcenter will exchange a motherboard with no recepiet after 30 days? Can i still put my cpu in the socket with little cotton in it? Please help

Dont try to vacuum it, too much static made. Compressed air is the best bet, hope its not stuck on there too good.
After that I would try tweezers or mechanical pencils/toothpicks etc to just get it off. Just be careful not to bend or snap any pins.

For future reference, coffee filters work great for removing paste.
