Hi there, I came home from work tonight and booted my pc up and received the BOOTMGR is missing.

I thought that is odd, first checked bios and noticed that my boot order had got switched somehow. Fixed that and everything booted fine, I figured it weird and nothing to worry too much about.

I then loaded Dota 2 a game in which under the launch options on steam I had -novid enabled which should disable the famous valve intro video. For the first time in two years I saw that intro video.

It's hard not to notice that the two oddities happened on the same day, do I have a faulty hard drive? Have I dl'd some virus I am unaware of? Any insight or things I should do is appreciated!

Did you check the date/time on the system? If CMOS reset somehow it would change the date back to a far previous date and your game may have a date stamp on the change to remove the intro
