Cooling pad's are great.... for cooling the outside of a laptop, but they're not great at reducing the heat of the cpu or GPU.

You can, but I don't reccomend it It is quite simple. Download a utility such as msi afterbuner, asus gpu tweak, evga persicion, and simply drag up the core clock upwards
