i currently use a 2.0 speaker setup, if I install a soundbar speaker, will the sound come out from both speaker ?

Solution
the below is only if the soundbar has 3.5mm input....

currently you have your 2.0 speakers connected up to the green port (left and right sound)

to use the soundbar (which typically includes two speakers, a left and a right) as one big center speaker what you would need to do is...

either A) get a 3.5mm male stereo connector and a 3.5mm female stereo connector and wire both outputs to the one input (center shouldbe the tip). ground connects to ground.

basically connectors like this one the one end http://cdn4.explainthatstuff.com/earbud-stereo-jack-plug-wiring.jpg and a female on the other. then you can wire it up exactly how it needs to be. all you need is a solder gun. you could *probably* find a cable which does the same thing...

or B) to do the same thing with commonly available wires.. use a 3.5mm male stereo to 2x 3.5mm female mono Y cable, connect a 3.5mm mono male to 2x 3.5mm mono female & cable to the side for center then use a 2x3.5mm male mono to single 3.5mm stereo male to plug into your soundbar.

alternatively you could try just using a 3.5mm mono to stereo jack in your computer however i'm not sure if having the sub line on the ground line is going to cause any issues

the soundbar is going to get connected to the orange center/sub jack on your computer... however we need to isolate just the center channel (hence the above) and eliminate the sub signal.

alternatively... if you changed your mind and just wanted a left speaker, the left side of the soundbar to act as a left speaker, the right side of the soundbar to act as a right speaker and another right speaker.... all you would need to do is put a 3.5mm stereo to 2x 3.5mm stereo splitter on your green jack and plug both sets in. you will then have two left and two right speakers.
