On-board and dedicated graphics at the same time - Gigabyte z77-DS3H

Hi guys, I've searched online about setting up my computer with both on-board graphics and with my dedicated GPU.

I've seen that certain MOBO's support this feature and found that in my BIOS I can set to leave integrated graphics enabled as well as setting up my primary graphics setting at the same time. I've changed these settings around but so far I've hit a dead end and can't even get the second monitor to show up.

I've tried updating the BIOS which didn't change a thing and when I tried to update the on board graphics driver from Gigabytes website, it says my computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements(Which is does).

Any idea on what the issue might be? Any help is appreciated :)

Listed my computer specs below just in case:
GPU: 660 Ti
MOBO: Gigabyte z77-DS3H
CPU: i5 - 3570k
RAM: 8GB
PSU: 650W OCZ ZS

Solution
Okay, I fixed the problem so i'll leave my solution here in case someone else comes across this.

I downgraded my BIOS from F10(beta) to F9 which is a full release. After this I had to remove my joystick from the USB port and remove the CMOS battery.

I then put the battery back in, reset the BIOS to defaults and rebooted. After this I went into the BIOS and I changed the init display first to 'PEG' and integrated graphics to enabled, save and exit the BIOS and then it worked! :)

No idea why this issue was happening but other people have reported the same issue with joystick controllers and other USB devices. Hopefully this can help anyone else with the issue :)

Do both your video cards show up in device manager, and have you installed drivers for both of them?

Also, when I was testing om my GTX670 and my 3570k's on board I found it was actually slightly faster to run both monitors off of my 670 no mater what content was on them. Is there some specific reason you need the second monitor plugged in to the on board?

Seems I can't even install the drivers for the on board graphics, which could be the problem as it isn't showing in the device manager.

Not really, just saves me having to buy an adapter as my older monitor(one i'm trying to setup) is VGA only so it allows me to just directly connect it to the board. I only want the second monitor for when i'm programming so i'm not too worried about speed :)

I plugged my monitor into the on board display and it seems the issue is the lack of drivers for the on board graphics. I can't seem to actually install them though and have no Intel controller in my device manager

Are you sure your on board isn't just disabled in your BIOS? That's the only way I can think that it wouldn't show up in device manager, even if it was just listed as 'Standard VGA Adapter' you would think something would be in there.

You are looking for This Screen where it says integrated graphics, switch to enabled instead of Auto.

If you physically remove the dedicated card, does the on board start working?

I removed the card and the on board started working.

Also, every time I switch init display first to any of the options, it switches it back to auto and I also made sure that integrated graphics is set to enabled and this never changes back

Init Display First&&
Specifes the frst initiation of the monitor display from the installed PCI graphics card, PCI Express graphics card, or the onboard graphics.
Auto Lets BIOS automatically configure this setting. (Default)
IGFX Sets the onboard graphics as the first display.
PEG Sets the PCI Express graphics card on the PCIEX16 slot as the first display. (set this first to have the gpu post first)
PCI Sets the graphics card on the PCI slot as the first display.
Internal Graphics&&
Enables or disables the onboard graphics function. (Default: Auto) reset this to enabled.
Internal Graphics Memory Size&&
Allows you to set the onboard graphics memory size. Options are: 32M~1024M. (Default: 64M) set it to 1024.

I used the Gigabyte @bois flash utility while running Win10 and updated Z77 Ds3h bios from F9 to F11a and now an Asus GTX750ti video card is recognized in the PCIe slot and works well, ...before...nothing on screen no beeps no nothing, F9 bios version would not recognize any video card
cheers.
