I'm trying to upgrade my CPU in my A6620f I currently have the E5200 dual core in it but I wanted to upgrade to the Q9550 I have an Antec VP450 PSU and I'm also running a GTX 550ti in there what I was wondering was can I run the Q9550 with that card on my VP450 or would I need to upgrade my PSU? oh I'm running 64bit Vista not sure if that matters or not.

Solution
We don't have enough info to tell you.

The Q9550's power draw is 95 watts, vs the E5200's 65watts; so, yes, there is the potential that the increased power draw could overwhelm the 450 watts you have available. That said, adding 30 watts is probably not going to be a problem.

But without you telling me your complete system config, I have no idea how much power you're currently drawing. I think the 550ti draws 250 under load, so you don't have a ton of headroom to work with. Do you have a ton of HDDs, fans, what is your MoBo, etc?'

I would go put your config into pcpartpicker.com and check the power draw in relation to your PSU.
