Hello,

I have a pc that I just recently built and was wondering how much I would be able to get for it. I would also like to know what the minimum price could/should be.

My Specs:

Gigabyte 990fxa-UD3 Rev 1.1 (latest bios)
8gb Ripjaws X 1333
Sapphire HD 7850 2gb OC Edition
160gb Western Drive with Windows 7 Pro/Windows 8 Partioned
1tb Seagate HDD for Games, Storage, Videos etc.
Corsair CX750 Modular PSU
Blu-Ray Drive/DVD Drive
Cooler Master Elite 430 Case
FX-8150 CPU w/ FX Water Cooling System

First question I'd ask is what OS do you have installed and do I get the original installation disks? If not, I will suspect tha the OS is pirated and may stop working at some point in time. So that will be -$100

Then, my rule of thumb is that it is prohibitively expensive to ship a PC in the mail and parts may get shaken loose, so I'd only want to buy it locally. That means advertising/selling through Craigslist that has no reputation system and means every rip-off artist lives on there. Another -$100.

I'd be wondering why you would sell a PC that you recently built, since you can' t possibly build a PC for less than a major manufacturer that can source components at direct and volume discounted prices...

They also get the OS discounted. I mean, Dell can sell a low-end PC for $200. I can't buy the components for that price. At higher levels, the deal gets better and I can build custom stuff that doesn't get offered by a manufacturer - but that's not for resale.

Then I'd worry about the water cooling rig. new builders tend to make mistakes in water cooling. Are you selling because of that? Did it leak and damage something?

I'd also know that most warranties may not transfer on resale. That may be an issue.

at the end of the day, maybe, and that's maybe, I'd think it might be worth a gamble at about $350. But that would be after I inspected it, verified that it runs well, can run a stress test and that the windows activation checks out. Without that. no deal.
