Not sure where to put this so sorry if its in the wrong section...

Anyways, i just "finished" my computer build, all i need is RAM so i don't have any installed yet, but when i turned it on there was still no signal. Im hoping its the fact that i have no RAM installed and not a part thats DOA but since this is my first build, i have no clue. Anyone ever try to turn on their computer without RAM? If so, what happened? If not, could you try to verify that thats the problem?

The computer lights up, turns fans on both the case and the components like the CPU and the GPU, and just runs like that but there is no signal on the TV. Im using a 32" hdtv and i know the input is good cause i tried another computer on it. I also tried both the hdmi and the dvi outputs on the GPU card. Nothing seems to work. The CPU also seems to run kinda hot. Not sure what to do.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Specs:

AMD FX8320
Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3

Older seagate 320gb barracuda from another pc that still hasn't been wiped yet
No OS
ULTRA etourqe case (or something like that)
VIZIO 32" 3D 1080p HDTV

No problem, with no RAM you'll get no signal but the fans spinning is a good sign everything else is OK. But you should get a no RAM error beep code, or else a code on the motherboard readout... not much you can do without RAM so just sit tight until you get it.

The computer will just start up and sit there. It will fail the POST (Power On Self Test) and the computer will most likely make beeping noises. It's very possible that you will receive no image on the screen. I once started an old computer without RAM and it just made a series of beeping noises without displaying an image. Don't worry too much it doesn't seem anything to throw up flags. If it doesn't display anything after the installation of RAM then come back for more help! Good luck!

Just an update: My RAM came in and I'm still not getting a signal. Im thinking it might be that my power supply isn't supplying enough power for my GPU? Might not be the case since the fan is spinning on the GPU.

Do you have an on board graphics card? If you do connect the your monitor to there and unplug the power to your video card. That should be a quick way to test if it is indeed your power supply. It should be too much of a problem if you have a 500+ power supply of course this varies on the hardware in the computer.
