I've been trying to build this computer for my girlfriend and it won't start. Every part is in the right place and the wires are where they should be but whenever I try to start it up the light for the graphics card and the case fan start for a split second than shut off. I've tried unplugging parts and starting it up but nothing seems to work. I unplugged the motherboard as well and it wouldn't start up for a split second. There are a few bent pins on the back of the motherboard I just wanted to know if that is causing the issue.

That is NEVER a good thing! What kind of pins are they? Are they really "pins" or some other non-essential part of the motherboard?

Regardless, this sounds like a PSU issue. What wattage is your power supply? This is common for an overtaxed system that can't handle the wattage being asked by the other components in the system. That, or it is simply defective.
