Solution
check to see if hibernation is enabled. the first time its used it will set aside diskspace.
also if you have windows virtual memory set to allwo windows to handle it then space will be allocated as needed.
your recycle bin will take up as much as it needs up to its allocation when you empty it it will be dynamically reduced in size so clean it out.
clean out your temp folders as they will mirror most apps you install, but not all will be deleted after the install.
reduce the size of your recovery foleder or disable it all together if you dont need it.

so run disk cleanup and see how much space it recovers.
set your recycle to around 4 gigs
set your page file to manual and set it to 1.5 times the size of your physical ram if you have...

set your page file to manual and set it to 1.5 times the size of your physical ram if you have less than 8 gigs of ram or if you have more set it to that size.
disable hibernation if you dont need it, the disk space will be reallocated as empty after the reboot.
