Blank screen at log in apart from flickering cursor after installing new graphics card

Just installed a new graphics card (sapphire r9 290x 4gb oc). I uninstalled all my old nvidea drivers and installed the amd ones, everything was working fine until i restarted the computer. Now I get to the log in screen and its completely blank apart from my mouse cursor flickering. I unplugged the graphics card and booted up using the systems integrated graphics and it all work fine?!

It could be your card, alot of the r9 270x 280x 290x have issues with flicking because of them being over clocked, you might be able to send it back and get a good one or if you watch a video on YouTube or something and your screen is fine you might have to leave a youtube video running so it doesn't do it. It's very sad but there hasn't been a fix to this yet, so I just leave a youtube video running and I don't have to worry about flicker or anything.

I can't get past the log in screen though to try the youtube thing, gonna send it back to amazon and get a 780ti, which is going to leave me broke!

Well if you could it'd be worth a try, but I understand that amd seems to be having quite a bit of driver and card issues right now. So if that's what you want to do then that's your decision
