Yes, if you take out the CPU you can install it on another motherboard as long as the motherboard is compatible. You don't have to worry about Intel CPU's fitting only into HP, DELL etc. motherboards; an Intel CPU will fit into any compatible motherboard which supports the processor.

If you do purchase the computer for $120 or even be it £120 (which I still think is a good deal), you can keep the motherboard and simply mount it into a bigger case. You don't need a new motherboard for installing larger components, such as a GPU; you only need a bigger case. Of course if you want to change the motherboard, that's still no issue either.

To answer your question simply, yes you can take out the CPU and install it on another motherboard. Just ensure the other motherboard is compatible, for example if it's a i7-2600, make sure the motherboard you want to install it into is on socket 1155, and is a 6 or 7 series motherboard, e.g. H67, Z77 etc. If you need more assistance on what motherboard the i7 is compatible with, please reply back with which i7 it is, example i7-3770 etc. and I'll state which socket/chipsets are compatible; or create a new thread and we'll assist. :)

All the best. :)

Thank you! It is an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz, and i was just going to put it in another case, but the motherboards looks like I would have a difficult time finding a compatible case cause of the placement of the outlets. Any recommended motherboards?? it would be for a gaming pc

Most case manufacturers consider the sizes of different motherboards, so the one supplied could be fine. The common form factors/sizes of motherboards are Mini-ITX, uATX (also known as Micro ATX or mATX) and ATX. Mini-ITX being the smallest size motherboard and ATX being the largest (you can still however get even smaller or larger motherboards.)

The maximum sizes of each form factor are (i.e. the largest size a motherboard in each form factor can be):

Mini-ITX: 6.7 x 6.7 inches
uATX/Micro ATX: 9.6 x 9.6 inches
ATX: 12 x 9.6 inches

If you have a microATX or ATX motherboard, you'll probably be safe to use the motherboard with most modern/gaming cases. However if you still want a new motherboard, I understand. Are you within the United States by any chance? I am asking to determine the cheapest motherboard in your location. If you are, then perhaps these cases:

If you want a micro ATX motherboard:

Motherboard: ASRock B75M-GL R2.0 Micro ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($54.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $54.99
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Otherwise if you want an ATX motherboard, you could go with this:

Motherboard: ASRock Z75 Pro3 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($66.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $66.99
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
