yea that monitor's really really good...it has 14ms response time which might be a bit high, personally i dont like anything above 10ms but most people dont even notice any ghosting, as for your ram question, the difference between those two is the ramspeed, the higher that number is (eg 2133mhz and 1866mhz) the faster the ram is. another difference is the CAS latency, thats basically how quickly the ram switches tasks and...

well yes the 290x will completely blow the gtx 770 out of the water....but when deciding between amd and nvida, you need to know one more thing: do you want physx?....because if you do then no choice but to go for nvidia

The price range for the monitor is going to be around like $120-140. Since I want the H440 case (it just looks great in my opinion) I am going for performance and looks, I think I will be sticking with a nvidia card since they look nice and perform quieter. I don't think I will be overclocking so I might downgrade the 4690k to a normal 4690. I want to keep the build under $1300 so I can still afford a keyboard and monitor

I would still go for the 290X for its price too
he won't need Physx as he would be able to max out all of the games and the upcoming games with that 290X

he wont need physx?...physx is not something you need, its something you want...also physx has no affect on your performance....the 290x will indeed blast the 770 out of the water, the 290x even beats the gtx 780....physx is just particle effects...not a performance thing...games that support physx http://www.geforce.co.uk/hardware/technology/physx/games

the 290x blows the gtx 770 http://www.legitreviews.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/r9-290-gtx770-645x359.png .in terms of performance, a gtx 780 vs 290x is a better comparison, the 290x still wins here though, as for the monitor ChitKitchow...i would still urge you to go for the Asus VE247h (or VE248h) i recommended earlier, its only $17 more, plus, you'll save money by going for a non 'k' series cpu and obviously a H97 board..and ditching the liquid cooler, because if you're not going to be oc'ing,liquid coolers are utterly pointless.

yea that monitor's really really good...it has 14ms response time which might be a bit high, personally i dont like anything above 10ms but most people dont even notice any ghosting, as for your ram question, the difference between those two is the ramspeed, the higher that number is (eg 2133mhz and 1866mhz) the faster the ram is. another difference is the CAS latency, thats basically how quickly the ram switches tasks and how long it takes, the lower the CAS number, the faster the ram...also these two ramsticks use different voltages, i'd recommend going with the second link...it has a voltage of 1.5v, intel generally has problems with anything higher than 1.55v ram sticks on their cpus. you can undervolt it if you want, but thats a whole different can of worms...also, ramspeeds and CAS latencies dont really make that much of a difference, as long as the ram sticks are 1.5v 2x4gb , just get it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWgzA2C61z4

EDIT: i think i may have just found the best ips panel alive right now...check this out http://pcpartpicker.com/part/acer-monitor-umvh6aa003 ....this has 2x the contrast ratio the one you recommended.....i couldnt find alot of reviews on it, but the specs of this thing look downright amazing, i'll keep looking for reviews if i can find any, beware though this has a glossy screen, which kinda helps bring out the colour vibrancy but will be very reflective
