So I just finished building my new PC and the only thing left to do is getting a new graphics card.
I'm not sure what card I should get.
I want to choose between the following cards:
Sapphire Radeon HD7950 3GB With Boost
MSI Radeon R9 270 2GB GAMING

Here are some of my specs:
CPU: Intel Core i5-2320 @ 3.00GHz
RAM: 4GB DDR3 RAM
OS: Windows 7 64-Bit
CASE: Zalman Z11 Plus
MOTHERBOARD: MS-7728 (Micro-ATX)
PSU: XFX PRO550W (XFX TS550W)

I'm pretty sure the 7950 is the better card here but is there a huge difference if I overclock the R9 270?
Also, Which one uses the most power?
Thanks in advance!

R9 270x uses less power, but HD 7950 is more powerful. Don't use overclocking R9 270x to catch up with 7950 as a reason, because it is just as valid to say you can overclock 7950 to 7970/280x levels. I am of course assuming the overlcoking potential betwen the two is equivalent which is no often the case. Don't forget, if you overclock the R9 270x the power effeciency argument no longer applies.

bluntly but the stronger the card the more power it will use plus they are the same architecture (GCN) and both are 28NM

if u can afford the 7950 (tahiti pro) get it it is a lot better than the R9 270/X

and BTW R9 280 non X = 7950

also the Difference between the 7970(R9 280X)/7950(R9 280) clook for clook is around 10-5 fps in most cases

I went for the 7950 and I'm very happy with it!
Thanks for answering.
